Shubman Gill believes that opening the innings with Rohit Sharma will be crucial for Team India at the upcoming ODI World Cup at home.
Speaking to the ICC ahead of Asia Cup 2023, Gill said that it feels great to be able to open up with Rohit, especially knowing that all the focus is on him.
'He's someone who likes the other batters to go and just express himself and play the way I want to play the game. So in that nature, he gives the players full freedom for how they want to express their game,' Gill added.
Rohit and Gill have opened the innings 9 times in ODIs and the pair has scored 685 runs at 76.11.
