Even though the World Test Championship final is over, the controversy over Shubman Gill's dismissal is not dying down.

Two Australian greats, Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer, have lashed out at Shubman Gill for his social media posts questioning his contentious dismissal.

Terming social media a challenge for modern-day cricketers, former Australian coach Justin Langer said that Gill's tweet is a bit irresponsible and showed inexperience.

Meanwhile, Australia's legendary captain Ricky Ponting said that Gill's tweet is a direct attack on the umpires.

He said, “There will be some sort of fine, or maybe even a suspension. That is a direct crack at the umpire for the decision that they made. You can’t do that. The whole world was going to do that for him … he didn’t need to say a word.”
