Shakib Al Hasan was on Friday appointed as Bangladesh's ODI captain and the all-rounder will lead the Bangla Tigers in Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup this year.
After Tamim Iqbal stepped down as the skipper following an injury which ruled him out of the Asia Cup, Liton Das was in contention to become Bangladesh's new ODI captain.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board convinced Shakib to take up the role.
