While India's ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya is being touted as the next captain in the T20I format, the regular skipper of India Rohit Sharma's presence in the upcoming scheme of things seemed uncertain.
However, Rohit Sharma has cleared the doubts and is apparently all set to take part in the next year's T20 World Cup which is going to happen in the United States and West Indies. In a video from an event which is now going viral, the 36-year-old is seen saying, "We have a T20I world cup coming in June 2024. It'll be pretty exciting and we're looking forward to it."
The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli though haven't announced their retirement yet from the shortest format of the game, it is clear by the recent selections that the 2 players have been sidelined since the completion of the T20 World Cup 2022. Both the players have not featured in any T20I series that India has played since the marquee event ended in November 2022.
