India's famed all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reportedly cut off contact with his father and sister ever since he married Rivaba Jadeja.
Gujarati daily Divya Bhaskar interviewed Aniruddhsinh Jadeja, the cricketer's father, who revealed he shares a strained relationship with his son.
Jadeja Sr. was quoted as saying, 'Let me tell you the truth? I have no relation whatsoever with Ravi (Ravindra Singh Jadeja) or his wife (Rivaba Jadeja). We don't meet them and they don't meet us.'
The report alleged that a dispute arose within the family just a few months into his son's marriage to the now BJP MLA.
As per the report, the father stays separately in a flat in Jamnagar while Jadeja stays in a bungalow in the same city.
'I don't know what magic his wife has done. It would've been better if we never made him a cricketer,' the news organisation said quoting Aniruddhsinh.
The report went on to state that Jadeja senior has not seen his granddaughter in nearly five years.
The cricketer and his wife welcomed their daughter in 2017.
Reacting to the news, Jadeja quashed all claims made by his father and urged the public to not believe scripted interviews.
He added that he too has a lot to say but he won't do it publicly.
