Amid the explosive controversy between former teammates Mitchell Johnson and David Warner, a new development has taken shape.

Australia take on Pakistan starting December 14 in a 3-match Test series and the 42-year-old former Aussie pacer was to commentate during the first Test.

But as per a new list released by media company Triple M, Johnson's name has been dropped from the commentators list.

This comes days after Johnson questioned David Warner's selection, citing poor Test form for the past two years.

The Test series will also mark Warner's departure from the longest format.

His selection had Johnson wondering if the southpaw deserves such a farewell after the 2018 ball-tampering scandal.

The spat has since blown up with selector George Bailey and other Australian players also commenting on it, with many of them coming to Warner's defence.
