Punjab Kings have slammed a news organisation for spreading rumours about captain Mayank Agarwal's sacking.

The IPL franchise issued a clarification and called out a sports News website. 'We would like to state that no official of the team has issued any statement on the same,' PBKS wrote on social media.

Agarwal was made the skipper of Punjab Kings for the 2022 edition of the IPL but he had a disastrous run with the bat. The new-look Punjab also failed to impress under his leadership and couldn't make it to the playoffs. Due to a forgettable season, there were reports in the Indian media that PBKS was set to sack Mayank Agarwal but the franchise as now put all those rumours to rest.
