West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd has been traded to the Mumbai Indians from the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 28-year-old Guyanese cricketer was acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants for ₹50 lakh and played just one game during the 2023 IPL.

An IPL media advisory officially announced the trade, stating, "Romario Shepherd has been traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window ahead of the TATA IPL 2024."

In the IPL 2022 auction, the Sunrisers Hyderabad secured Romario Shepherd's services for a massive ₹7.75 crore. However, he had limited opportunities and appeared in only three matches during his debut IPL season.

This trade to the Mumbai Indians marks a fresh start for Romario Shepherd, who is known for his all-round abilities and can contribute with both bat and ball. The Mumbai Indians, a highly successful franchise in the IPL, will be looking to make the most of his talent in the upcoming season.
