A day after Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir’s bitter argument took centre stage at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, the two cricketing greats were fined 100% of their match fee for breaching the IPL code of conduct.
After Bangalore defeated Lucknow at home, an altercation broke out between the RCB batter and Gautam Gambhir, who is Lucknow Super Giants’ mentor.
Kohli's brief interaction with LSG opener Kyle Mayers seemed to have triggered the heated quarrel, as reported by news agency PTI.
Both Virat and Gambhir admitted to Level 2 offence of the IPL code of conduct.
LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was also fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the Code of Conduct. The Afghan player admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
