The players' auction for the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League is expected to be held in mid-December this year.
According to a Cricbuzz report, the IPL 2023 auction is tentatively scheduled to take place on December 16. However, the venue of the auction hasn't been finalised yet.
It will be a mini-auction this time, given the mega auction was held prior to IPL 2022 which saw a major rejig in teams for all franchises.

During IPL 2023 auctions, the salary purse of franchises will be Rs 95 crore, an increase of Rs 5 crore from last year. This means each franchise will have reserves of at least Rs 5 crore to start with. The purse could swell if the IPL teams release players ahead of the auction.
With the transfer window open till one week before the auction, there has been big speculation over the fate of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja at Chennai Super Kings.
Jadeja's fallout as CSK captain mid-season, followed by the southpaw deleting all his CSK-related Instagram posts, could well mean the all-rounder is looking for a different team this time around.
IPL 2023 is likely to kick-start in the 4th week of March next year.
