Hosts West Indies were no match for India as they suffered a 68-run demolition at the hands of Rohit Sharma’s men.

Chasing a mammoth 191 for victory, Nicholas Pooran’s side could never really get going, losing wickets at regular intervals to finish at 122/8.

The Indian spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 5 wickets between them.

Earlier, Captain Rohit Sharma starred for India, scoring a 44-ball 64 after being put in to bat. Even though India’s middle-order struggled, Dinesh Karthik’s flourish helped India reach the 190-run mark at the end of their 20 overs.

The men from the Caribbean have now lost 4 games in a row against the Men in Blue in Trinidad. The action now shifts to St Kitts, where India will face the West Indies in the 2nd T20I on Monday.
