The Wanderers has always been India's happy hunting ground in South Africa and a win here will make this side the first Indian team to win a Test series in South Africa. However, Virat Kohli won't be a part of the all-crucial 2nd Test vs The Proteas.

The Indian Test skipper missed out due to an upper back spasm and newly appointed vice-captain KL Rahul led the team in his absence. He also won the toss and opted to bat first. Interestingly, Rahul has captained in just 1 first-class game before this. That's the joint second-fewest games along with MS Dhoni before making Test captaincy debut for India.

Virat was also in for a huge milestone had India won the Johannesburg Test. He is currently on the 4th spot with the most Test wins as captain. One more victory would have taken him at the 3rd spot with 41 wins in whites.

KL Rahul though stated that Virat should be fit for the 3rd and final Test.
