Shubman Gill was being referred to as the prince of Indian cricket, someone who would take Virat Kohli's legacy forward.

But he has been a mere shadow of himself in international cricket for a few months now.

The opener once again disappointed in India's Asia Cup 2023 opener vs Pakistan and was dismissed for a 32-ball-10.

His string of poor scores is getting longer now and has started to hurt India.

Gill has managed to score just 371 runs in his last 18 innings in international cricket. He averages a mere 21.8 and hasn't scored a hundred during this period.

Moreover, Gill averaged over 61 in 18 international innings before IPL 2023. But it has clearly been a contrasting tale after that as the opener has averaged under 25 in 14 innings post the cash-rich league.
