On Day 2 of rescheduled fifth Test, India continued their dominant show as captain Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja stood out as the play was marred by multiple rain breaks at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Jadeja quickly completed his 3rd Test hundred before Bumrah produced a knock of his life and shattered Brian Lara's 18-year-old record.  The 28-year-old pacer remained unbeaten on 16-ball 31 as India notched up 416 runs in the first innings.

Bumrah continued his tremendous run with the ball as well and cleaned up Alex Lees before the first rain break forced early Lunch. Indian bowlers kept England batters in check with great line and length with Bumrah getting two more wickets in the afternoon session before rain once again played spoilsport and forced early tea.

In the final session, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow survived the fiery spell of Shami and Bumrah upfront. But Root failed to keep his wicket intact and fell to Mohammed Siraj for 31.

Jack Leach replaced the former England captain as nightwatchman but Shami sent him back to the pavilion for a duck.

England were tottering at 84-5, trailing by 332 runs, at the end of the day's play with Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes at the crease.
