Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuvraj Singh were part of India's 2011 World Cup-winning squad but the former all-rounder doesn't believe Ashwin deserves to play white-ball cricket.

In an interview with Times of India Singh opined, 'Ashwin is a great bowler but I don't think he deserves a place in ODIs and T20s. He is very good with the ball but what does he bring with the bat or as a fielder?'

Singh added that while Ashwin should be in the Test team, he doesn't deserve a spot in white-ball cricket.

Ashwin has taken 228 wickets in his white-ball career spanning 14 years while he is inching closer to the coveted 500-mark in Tests.

The off-spinner's economy rate in ODIs is 4.93 and 6.90 in T20Is. His Test economy rate of 2.76 shines through across the formats.
