'It is a total rumour and a lie,' said Heath Streak as rumours of his death did the rounds on social media.

Zimbabwe cricket legend was presumed dead on Wednesday morning before his former teammate Henry Olonga revealed that he was very much alive.

Heath Streak himself cleared the air later on and told Mid Day that he was very much alive and doing well.

'I am very upset to learn that something as big as someone apparently passing can be spread unverified, especially in our day and age of social media. I believe the source should apologise. I am hurt by the news,' added the 49-year-old.

The former cricketer is battling colon and liver cancer and said that he is 'better now and recovering from cancer.'
