As the world mourned the demise of Heath Streak on August 23, his former teammate Henry Olonga sprang a surprise on cricket fans.

Hours after Olonga posted about Streak's supposed passing on X, the Zimbabwean posted a clarification claiming his friend and former teammate is alive.

The 47-year-old attached a screenshot of a chat, seemingly with Streak, who refuted his death rumours.

The exchange read, 'Very much alive, please revert this runout, immediately buddy.'

To which Olonga responded, 'Ha ha. So good to hear. This thing grew quickly. You died overnight brother.'

Heath Streak has been battling cancer and was believed to have succumbed to the illness.
