A bitter war of words erupted between India A pacer Harshit Rana and Bangladesh A batter Soumya Sarkar during the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 semifinal which the Men in Blue won by 51 runs at the R Premdasa Stadium in Sri Lanka.

Soon after Sarkar's dismissal in the 26th over a heated exchange took place between the 2 cricketers after the Bangladeshi southpaw was reluctant to leave the crease.

Yuvrajsinh Dodhiya got his wicket after Nikin Jose made a stunning dive to take a visibly difficult catch at the first slip to remove Sarkar. Unable to process his removal, Sarkar stayed at the crease to which Rana reacted sharply asking him to return to the pavilion. In reply, the actions of the Indian fielder led to Sarkar not leaving his place and getting involved in the squabble.

While Sai Sudharsan was instantly seen urging Sarkar to calm down and return, Captain Yash Dhull too intervened immediately to pull Jose back from the argument.

Earlier, Sarkar had celebrated aggressively after the dismissal of India A skipper Yash Dhull in the previous innings.
