Kapil Dev is known to speak his heart out when he talks about cricketers and he has now opened up about Hardik Pandya's Test career.

In an interview with the Times of India, the 1983 World Cup-winning captain said, 'Hardik Pandya has one of the finest bodies we have in the country. Yes, he should play more cricket because he has so much ability. If he is fit, he should play Test cricket also.'

However, Kapil Dev added that despite the ability, 'it doesn't look like he will play' in the longest format.'

Hardik last played a Test match against England in August 2018 and suffered a career-threatening back injury a few weeks after that in the Asia Cup.

Despite making a comeback to limited-overs cricket, Hardik hasn't played a Test match since then.
