The Pakistan Cricket Board is concerned for the already-crammed international cricket calendar as they feel it is being impacted by the growth of franchise cricket.

PCB chief executive Faisal Hasnain said in a statement that it wants the ICC to formulate a strategy on this issue, which the International Cricket Council has added to its meeting agenda. The next cycle of the Future Tour Programme (FTP) will be announced next week at the ICC Annual Conference in Birmingham.

'Two other boards have also conveyed their apprehensions to the ICC on this matter and urged the ICC to create a working group to debate on the expansion of franchise-based T20 leagues', added Faisal Hasnain.

As for the BCCI, the Indian board is negotiating an extended window for the Indian Premier League, having sold the media rights for 2023-27 for over Rs 48,000 crores.
