Disney+ Hotstar has announced that the ICC Men's World Cup and Asia Cup will be made free for mobile phone users in India.
The move came after JioCinema who owns IPL rights made the tournament free to watch. They clocked a record 1.47 billion views in the first weekend of the tournament.
Following their rival's footsteps, Sajith Sivanandan, head of Disney+Hotstar, said that making the 2 tournaments free of cost will help them grow the overall ecosystem.
