IPL franchise Delhi Capitals have announced the departure of assistant coaches Ajit Agarkar and Shane Watson. The franchise shared the news through a post on social media.

The decision comes amidst reports of Ajit Agarkar being considered for the position of Team India selector, with speculations surrounding his potential appointment as the chief selector of the Senior Selection Committee of the BCCI.

Just two weeks ago, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal had confirmed that Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly would continue with the franchise despite the team's disappointing performance in the past two seasons.

The team failed to qualify for the playoffs in both instances. In the 2023 season, Delhi Capitals managed to win only five out of 14 matches, finishing in the ninth position on the points table.

Ajit Agarkar and Shane Watson joined the Delhi Capitals after the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2022 season.
