In a bid to manage his workload, England Test captain Ben Stokes will miss the T20I series against South Africa and The Hundred competition.

Stokes hasn't been named in England's T20I squad against South Africa but will play in the ODI series against the Proteas. Stokes will also miss England's professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament, The Hundred.

The 30-year-old became England Test captain in April after Joe Root stepped down from the post. England under Stokes then went on to win the series against New Zealand 3-0 and also beat India in the fifth rescheduled Test against India.

Stokes was also rested for the T20I series against India.
