BCCI forms new A+ category for umpires in domestic cricket

BCCI has introduced a new A+ category for umpires in domestic cricket. ICC Elite Patel umpire Nitin Menon has been bunched with 9 other officials in the new category.

The other groups - Group A contains 20 umpires, Group B has 60 while Group C and D consist of 46 and 11 umpires respectively.

Though the list was presented as 'gradation of umpires' earlier, a BCCI official later clarified that the division is only to differentiate groups. However, the duties will be assigned on the basis of these groups. 

For a first-class game, umpires in the A+ and A categories will get a remuneration of Rs 40,000 a day while B and C category umpires will be paid Rs 30,000 per day.
