Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced his retirement from T20 Internationals, effective immediately.

The veteran star has also confirmed that if he’s not picked for the Test series against South Africa at home, then the 2nd Test match against India in Kanpur will be his final red-ball game.

Shakib's last appearance for the national team is expected to be in the Champions Trophy, scheduled for early next year in the UAE and Pakistan. The 37-year-old, who has played 129 T20Is for Bangladesh, will continue to participate in T20 leagues around the world.
