Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, Babar Azam is all set to make a comeback as Pakistan's captain, a Pakistani news organisation reported on March 27.

A report by Cricket Pakistan states that Azam is reluctant to return as skipper after his last stint and the way his removal was handled following the team's dismal performance at the Cricket World Cup 2023.

The 29-year-old will reportedly only accept his role if his concerns are addressed.

Cricket Pakistan goes on to state that Mohammad Rizwan was the frontrunner to replace current skipper Shaheen Afridi but PCB seems to have finalised Azam as the leader, once more.
