Asian Games 2023: Ruturaj Gaikwad to captain India, Rinku Singh included in 15-man squad

The BCCI has announced a young Indian squad for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, with Ruturaj Gaikwad named captain of the side.

Rinku Singh, the swashbuckling finisher, who enthralled audiences with his breathtaking display in IPL 2023, has also been included in the squad. Apart from Rinku, a number of youngsters have been rewarded for their performances in IPL 2023.

The likes of Jitesh Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, Shivam Dube and Prabhsimran Singh, have all been included in the 15-man squad.

The BCCI also announced a 5-players standy list that includes the likes of Venkatesh Iyer & Deepak Hooda.

The men's competition will take place from September 28 to October 8, and since the tournament is overlapping with the ODI World Cup in India, the BCCI has decided to send a second-string side.
