Alyssa Healy not just tackled Mumbai Indians' bowlers in UP Warriorz's sensational victory in the Women's Premier League on Wednesday night but also stopped a pitch invader.

A fan breached tight security at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and ran on to the pitch during the game but the Australian captain took him down.

The incident happened after the penultimate ball of MI’s innings. Healy, who was in her wicketkeeping gear, tried to keep the intruder at bay all by herself.

UP Warriorz beat Mumbai Indians

UP Warriorz stunned defending champions Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets on Wednesday to register their maiden win of the 2024 Women's Premier League.

Put into bat, MI posted a decent 161/6 in their 20 overs, Hayley Matthews, who struggled for form in the previous two games, came good with a 46-ball-55.

Warriorz chased down the target in just 16.3 overs after Kiran Navgire smashed 57 off 31 balls at the top of the order.

While the Warriorz won their first game in 3 outings and are languishing at the 4th spot in the 5-team tournament, Mumbai Indians was handed first defeat in as many games. They continue to be at the 2nd spot.
