Lawn Bowls - a sport not many Indians know about!

And yet, India made history on Monday when the Women's Fours team assured the country of a medal in the discipline.

Whether it will be a silver or a gold, we will find out on August 2 but this will be India's first-ever Commonwealth Games medal in Lawn Bowls.

Lovely Chaubey, Pinki, Nayanmoni Saikia and Rupa Rani Tirkey were the heroes for India as they defeated New Zealand 16-13 in the semis.

The scenes that followed will melt your heart. There were tears of joy - down on their knees, the four women hugged each other.

But the battle is still not over. While India are assured of a medal, it would all feel a lot sweeter if they can defeat South Africa in the final.

An emotional and a historic contest awaits, where all of India will be cheering for the their stars come Tuesday.
