CWG Badminton: PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, doubles pair of Jolly & Gopichand reach quarter-finals

India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu reached the quarter-finals in women’s singles without any trouble.

The India no. 1 defeated Uganda’s Kobugabe Husina in straight games: 21-10, 21-9. She’ll face Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei in the quarters.

Meanwhile, in men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth too made it to the last eight with an easy 21-9, 21-12 victory over Abeywickrama Dumindu. In the next round, Srikanth will face home favourite Toby Penty.

The women’s doubles pair of Teresa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand then made it 3 wins in 3 for India with a 21-2, 21-4 victory over their opponents from Mauritius.

They will lock horns with Jamaica's Katherine Wynter & Tahlia Richardson next.
