Ace shuttler and one of India's top medal contenders, PV Sindhu, had a Covid-19 scare upon her arrival in Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022.

According to a report in the Times of India, Sindhu's RT-PCR test results showed some deviations, which forced the authorities to put her in isolation for some time. The 2-time Olympic medallist was told to not come in contact with her badminton contingent till her second result came out.

To everyone's relief, Sindhu's test result came out to be negative and she was then allowed to check into the Games Village on Tuesday.

The report further states that it was because of this scare that the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) delayed the announcement of India's flagbearer for the Games.
