Hyderabad, India, October 27: The Bengaluru Torpedoes emerged as the champions of the RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League powered by Scapia. They clinched the title at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, triumphing over the Mumbai Meteors with a scoreline of 15-13, 16-4, and 15-13 in the final match. Both teams started the game cautiously, focusing on play from the middle zone. Petter Alstad Ostvik successfully blocked Joel Benjamin, while Bengaluru countered with Jishnu’s sharp block against Shubham Chaudhary. Strong service pressure from Sethu gave Bengaluru an initial advantage, forcing the Meteors to request a super point.

Mumbai's proximity in the first set was evident, but Bengaluru’s captain and setter, Matt West, showcased precision in distribution, guiding the Torpedoes to claim the opening set. Sethu initiated the second set with the first super serve of the night, and a series of unforced errors from Mumbai allowed Bengaluru to capitalize. Despite Om Lad Vasant’s commendable playmaking for the Meteors, his teammates Shubham and captain Amit Gulia overhit several pivotal shots. Joel Benjamin’s consistent attacking prowess left Mumbai struggling. Bengaluru extended their lead with Joel’s powerful super serve, securing the second set.

Jalen Penrose joined the action in the third set with thunderous spikes, helping Bengaluru maintain dominance. Mumbai's attempts to counter, led by Shubham, were notable. A strategic super point call by Coach David Lee was successful when Penrose executed a perfect winner. Although Mumbai recorded a super point of their own, Bengaluru maintained composure until the end. A service error from Mumbai’s Nikhil sealed the match in favor of the Torpedoes, completing a clean sweep in straight sets.

The victorious Bengaluru Torpedoes lifted the Season 4 Trophy and received a prize of ₹40 lakhs, while the Mumbai Meteors, the runners-up, earned ₹30 lakhs. RR Kabel awarded the Player of the Match accolade to Jishnu PV of Bengaluru Torpedoes, recognizing his critical defensive play that thwarted the opposition during key phases of the match. The Scapia Game Changer of the Match was Sethu, also from Bengaluru, whose aggressive serves and strategic gameplay effectively shifted the momentum toward the champions.
