New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) - On Friday, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya introduced the mascot 'Jalveer' and the official logo for the 11th Asian Aquatics Championship. This prestigious event is set to take place in Ahmedabad from September 28 to October 11.

The championship will play a crucial role as a qualification meet for the 2026 Asian Games. Accompanying Minister Mandaviya at the launch were representatives from the Swimming Federation of India (SFI).

The tournament is slated to be held at the state-of-the-art Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, designed to meet Olympic standards. With over 30 nations participating across various disciplines, the event promises to be a significant spectacle.

In his address, Mandaviya expressed his enthusiasm: "This championship is a landmark for Indian aquatics, providing an incredible platform for our athletes to demonstrate their capabilities against Asia's best competitors." With more than 1000 participants expected to converge in Gujarat, the Championship offers a unique opportunity for Indian swimmers to perform in front of a home audience.
