Portland, Oregon, Aug 18 (PTI) – Aditi Ashok delivered an impressive final round, posting a 5-under 67, securing a sixth-place finish at The Standard Portland Classic hosted at the prestigious Columbia Edgewater Country Club on the LPGA tour.

This marks Aditi’s best performance of the season on the LPGA circuit and only her second Top-10 finish this year. Her consistent rounds of 69, 70, 65, and 67 brought her to a commendable 17-under-par total for the week, with her final round featuring seven birdies and two bogeys.

Indian-American golfer Gurleen Kaur shone on the final day with a spectacular 7-under 65, earning her career-best second place with an impressive total score of 20-under par. Kaur's scores of 65, 68, 70, and 65 left her four strokes behind the tournament winner, Akie Iwai.

Meanwhile, Indian-Canadian Savannah Grewal finished tied for 38th with a total score of seven under par, having rounds of 69, 67, 72, and 73.

Japan's Akie Iwai secured her breakthrough victory with a flawless 6-under 66 in the final round, clinching her maiden title with a commanding four-stroke lead. Iwai’s total for the week was an outstanding 24-under par with scores of 67, 67, 64, and 66, highlighted by five birdies in her bogey-free final round.

Iwai joins an elite group of sibling duos who have both won titles on the LPGA tour. Her twin sister, Chisato Iwai, achieved her maiden victory earlier this year at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba, making the Iwai sisters the fourth sibling duo to claim titles in LPGA history.

Chisato Iwai finished tied for third alongside Sweden’s Linn Grant, both rounding off the week with a notable score of 19 under par.
