Sotheby’s in New York is dedicating the month of September to its first-ever hip-hop auction!

The auction will trace hip-hop culture from the late 1970s through to the mid-1990s, and a wide range of hip-hop memorabilia will be up for grabs on September 15.

Some key highlights of the sale include late rapper Notorious B.I.G.'s iconic 'King of New York' crown and handwritten love letters by teenage Tupac Shakur.

The auction, which has been in the works for seven years now, will feature contemporary art, posters, photography and jewellery related to hip-hop.
