Sony has reversed its decision to shut down the PS3 and PS Vita online stores, and will now be keeping them functional for the ‘foreseeable future’.
Sony had earlier announced that it would shut down digital storefront functionality for the PS3, PS Vita, and PSP, leading to criticism from video game conservationists. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said in a blog post that it was clear the company had made ‘the wrong decision’.
Sony will, however, still shut down the PSP online store on July 2 as planned.
