Smriti Mandhana made headlines on Wednesday as she became the first Indian to smash a hundred in the Women's Big Bash League.

Playing for Sydney Thunder Women, Smriti was 15 not out of 15 deliveries while chasing a target of 176. She then quickly shifted gears and smashed an unbeaten 64-ball-114. Her record-equalling knock though went in vain as no support from the other end meant that her side fell 4 runs short of the target.

Interestingly, her India teammate Harmaanpreet Kaur also played a blinder for Melbourne Renegades Women and powered her side to 175/4 with an unbeaten 55-ball-81.
