Signs of diabetes could be detected years before diagnosis

According to a research being presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, warning signs of type 2 diabetes maybe detected 20 years before the diagnosis. Rise in fasting blood sugar levels, High BMI and insulin resistance were seen in people years before the actual disease was detected. Dr Hiroyuki Sagesaka, who led the research, from Aizawa Hospital in Japan, said that early intervention is crucial to prevent the disease.
