Director Shekhar Kapur, known for films like 'Bandit Queen', 'Masoom' and 'Mr India' has been appointed as the new president of Film and Television Institute of India Society and chairman of FTII Governing Council.
The 74-year-old filmmaker's tenure will be till March 3, 2023.
Kapur who is known for his works in Hindi and international cinema, has received numerous awards including the Padma Shri in 2000, Golden Globe Award and two BAFTA Awards in 1998.
