Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi is being heavily criticised after a video of him backing Taliban emerged on social media. In the video, Afridi can be seen praising the militant group and saying that Taliban have taken over Afghanistan with a positive mind. He goes on to add that the Taliban are allowing women in Afghanistan to work in various fields including politics.

Speaking about cricket, the former all-rounder said that the Taliban likes the sport a lot and also supports it.

Pakistan journalist Naila Inayat shared the video on Twitter and said Shahid Afridi should become the PM of Taliban. Her sentiment was echoed by other netizens as well.
