SEBI bars NSE from raising capital for 6 months

Market regulator SEBI has directed the National Stock Exchange to 'disgorge' Rs 625 crore in the co-location case. The regulator has also barred the exchange from the securities market for six months. This means the NSE cannot access the capital market in terms of IPO for six months. In its order SEBI said the NSE did not exercise due diligence while putting in place TBT or Tick-by-Tick architecture. Two former NSE chief executive officers, Ravi Narain and Chitra Ramkrishna, to disgorge 25% of their salaries.
