In a move that is bound to upset India, Saudi Arabia plans to convene a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Kashmir. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday, where Qureshi briefed him on the situation in Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370.
Pakistan reportedly also highlighted the Indian government's actions with regard to the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 and the NRC, and the systematic targeting of Muslims.
The OIC is a 57-member grouping of Muslim majority nations, including Pakistan. The body has usually been supportive of Pakistan and often sided with Islamabad on the Kashmir issue.
