Samsung Display has announced that it will end all its liquid crystal display (LCD) production, including smartphones and televisions, in South Korea and China by the end of 2020. The display-making unit of Samsung Electronics said that it was doing so to provide more resources for its quantum dot (QD) displays. Earlier in October, Samsung suspended one of its two LCD production lines due to falling demand and a backlog of unsold manufactured units.
