Roger Federer pulls out of 2021 French Open

World number 8 Roger Federer has pulled out of the ongoing French Open as he is not willing to push himself after 2 knee surgeries. The Swiss Maestro took the decision on Sunday, a day after winning a hard-fought 3rd round clash.

39-year-old Federer, who was featuring in his first Grand Slam since the 2020 Australian Open, tweeted to say that after over a year of rehabilitation it's important that he listens to his body and make sure he doesn't push himself too quickly.

Federer was scheduled to face Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16 tie but the Italian 9th seed has earned a walkover into the quarterfinals.
