Cybersecurity firm Traced has said that it's found apps and services that could be used by cyber-stalkers to track when a user becomes active on WhatsApp. Reports say these third party services exploit WhatsApp's online status feature, that cannot be turned off or modified by users. While Google does not allow cyberstalking apps to be published on the Play Store, reports indicate such apps masquerade as apps to let parents and spouses know when their loved ones are online on WhatsApp.
