Report: Rahul rejects MPs' demand to remain party chief

Over a month after he decided to give up the top post after the Lok Sabha election drubbing, Congress President Rahul Gandhi again rejected a plea by MPs to continue as the party chief. According to the reports Rahul Gandhi was requested by MPs like Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari to remain as the party chief at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting in Parliament, which was chaired by Sonia Gandhi. But Rahul Gandhi remained firm on stepping down, the reports said.
