Remarks on Cooch Behar violence: EC bans BJP's Rahul Sinha, issues notice to Dilip Ghosh

The Election Commission has imposed a 48-hour ban on BJP leader Rahul Sinha from campaigning and also issued a notice to Dilip Ghosh over their controversial remarks on the Cooch Behar violence on April 10. BJP's Rahul Sinha had allegedly said on Monday that not four, but eight people should have been shot by the central forces in Cooch Behar's Sitalkuchi. The EC's ban starts from Tuesday noon till 12 pm on April 15 over his remarks on Sitalkuchi  in which five people lost their lives. Election Commission has also issued a notice to Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh seeking an explanation of his remarks by 10 am on Wednesday after he warned that more Cooch Behar-like incidents may happen.
