Liverpool turned up the pressure on English Premier League leader Chelsea by coasting to a second successive 4-0 victory at Anfield.

Liverpool simply toyed with Southampton as Diogo Jota scored a brace. Jota scored the game's opening goal just two minutes into the game, while the second came in the 32nd minute.

Thiago Alcantara deflected a pass into the back of the net in 37th minute as Liverpool went into half-time with a three-goal lead. The score was 4-0 after Virgil van Dijk's volley in the 52nd minute. Southampton attempted to take a risk by fielding three strikers at Anfield, but it backfired spectacularly.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has scored 39 times in 13 matches. The top three goal-scorers in Premier League this season are from Liverpool. Mohamed Salah is leading the chart with 11 goals while both Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota have scored seven goals each.
