Rajasthan Royals to retain Sanju Samson for IPL 2022: Reports

Rajasthan Royals have decided to retain Sanju Samson ahead of IPL 2022 mega auctions. According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Samson has agreed to a salary purse of Rs 14 crore per season and would be retained as the captain.

The retention window ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction will close on November 30. The 27-year-old batter joined the Royals in 2018 for Rs 8 crore and took over Rajasthan's captaincy ahead of IPL 2021. Though he failed to lead his team into the playoffs but scored 484 runs at a strike rate of 137.

As per BCCI rules, a team can retain a total of four players with a maximum of two foreign players. Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Liam Livingstone are the other 3 players likely to be retained by Rajasthan before the retention window closes on November 30.
