Punjabi actor-activist Deep Sidhu, accused in Red Fort violence, arrested

Punjabi actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who is an accused in the Red Fort violence on Republic Day, has been arrested, Delhi Police said on Tuesday. Sidhu has been on the run since the violence at the iconic Red Fort during the farmers' tractor rally on January 26. Sidhu has been accused of instigating farmers to divert from the rally route and indulge in violence in the Capital. The police had announced a ₹ 1 lakh reward for leads on Deep Sidhu and three other accused. A large number of protesters had forced their way inside Red Fort, climbed the ramparts and placed a Sikh religious flag.
